Pato Banton's Virgin Single Is His 1st UK Hit
A self- professed workaholic, Banton has rigged up his studio and begun producing artists local to his native Birmingham. Among those he has recorded on his label, Gwarn International, are Delroy The Barber, a professional barber who has fulfilled his ambition of recording Nat King Cole's "Mona Lisa".
He has also given hand to local singer Phil Joseph, who is reportedly about to ink a deal with a major label. Banton guested on Joseph's version of "Cupid".
"It's not about money, it's about making dreams come true," says Banton. "Roger and the boys from UB40 gave me my breaks. I think I should give someone else a break". Other Articles - Click to view |
